ACME Creates a Sea-to-Sky Vivid Canvas at the 15th National Games Closing Ceremony

November 22, 2025

On November 21, the Closing Ceremony of the 15th National Games of China was held at Shenzhen’s Qianhai Happy Theatre. Set against the stunning coastal backdrop of Qianhai Bay, ACME fixtures helped bring the “Stars and the Sea” theme to life — crafting immersive atmospheres and elevating artistic expression.

As one of the nation’s most prestigious sporting events, the 15th National Games was jointly hosted by Guangdong, Hongkong, and Macao, under the theme “Passion for the National Games, Vibrancy of the Greater Bay Area.”

For the closing ceremony, the production team transformed Qianhai Happy Theater into a vast “liquid canvas,” where water, sky, architecture, and light merged into a single immersive performance space. Breaking away from the conventions of a traditional stadium, the ceremony unfolded an open-air seaside stage, with the sky and sea as its backdrop and the cityscape as its scenery—creating the world’s first “Cityscape Panoramic Closing Ceremony.”

This innovative production blended cutting-edge technology with Lingnan cultural elements and the unique charm of the Greater Bay Area, showcasing Shenzhen’s rapid development, regional collaboration, and the living vibrancy of Chinese traditional culture.

ACME is proud to support the groundbreaking Closing Ceremony of the 15th National Games, helping create an unforgettable visual spectacle. Our robust IP66-rated fixtures are engineered to perform reliably even under the challenging high humidity and corrosive coastal conditions.

At the ceremony, ACME’s brand-new SKYTRK full-color laser sky trackers became one of the standout elements of the lighting design. The SKYTRK units projected razor-sharp 0.5° laser beams through their ultra-large 300 mm front lenses, cutting through the sky with clean, saturated output across the open-air venue. Powered by an 850W RGB full-color laser engine, the fixtures brought a level of punch and clarity far beyond conventional beam fixtures—perfectly matching the ceremony’s futuristic, high-tech atmosphere.

Lighting designers also took full advantage of its 51-color virtual color wheel, virtual CMY color mixing, and virtual CTO (2,500K to 8,000K) to create rich color palettes and fluid chromatic transitions, transforming the night sky into a vivid canvas.

The AECO 30 IP high-CRI moving profiles delivered breathtaking brightness and remarkable color fidelity, essential for the large-scale show. Driven by a 1,800W LED engine, the fixtures produced a jaw-dropping 43,000 lumens across the expansive stage. Every costume detail, every subtle facial expression of the performers was rendered with lifelike precision, thanks to a high CRI of over 95.

Highlighting key performers within the expansive outdoor stage required exceptional precision. The COMET follow spots, equipped with a powerful 1,800W LED engine and a high CRI, ensured natural skin-tone reproduction, precise tracking, and focused highlights, maintaining clarity even as performers moved across the stage.

In addition to the ceremony, our AECO 30 IP, KRAKEN, OXOZONE, and BLINDER LINE 10 IP fixtures have been installed throughout the Shenzhen Qianhai Happy Theater for long-term use. These IP66-rated fixtures support the venue’s daily performances—from large-scale immersive shows to regular theatrical programs—delivering reliable, high-quality output even in outdoor environments.

During the ceremony, our fixtures played a critical role in realizing the artistic vision, delivering reliable performance under the unique demands of a water-based stage. As lighting technology continues to evolve worldwide, ACME remains committed to driving innovation and empowering designers across the globe with forward-thinking solutions.
