On March 21, global K-pop phenomenon BTS made their long-awaited return with BTS The Comeback Live | Arirang 2026 at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul. Marking their first full-group performance in nearly four years, RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook reunited on stage before a crowd of over 100,000 fans — setting a new national record for the largest public concert in South Korea.
What unfolded was more than a comeback; it was a global event, livestreamed to the world via Netflix. ACME Lighting was proud to be part of this landmark production, contributing to a powerful fusion of music, scale, and visual storytelling.

Set against the historic backdrop of Gyeongbokgung Palace, the show seamlessly blended contemporary K-pop energy with Korean cultural heritage. Featuring eight brand-new tracks alongside fan-favorite anthems, the one-hour performance offered a compelling preview of the group’s upcoming world tour.

Designed by renowned events and production specialists Guy Carrington and Florian Wieder, the stage was built as a massive “picture frame” — a concept that both grounded the show within BTS’s modern energy and honored the cultural significance of the surroundings. Within this design concept, ACME Lighting became a key storytelling element, shaping depth, focus, and emotional impact.

Positioned along the frame edges, the ACME TORNADO formed a strategic triple-layered lighting array, creating a striking sense of perspective — a luminous “Portal of Light.” This layered composition naturally guided the audience’s gaze toward the central performance zone while enhancing the stage’s overall spatial dimension. Sweeping, high-intensity beams moved fluidly across the frame, delivering crisp, clean looks that energized the entire environment. With five individually controllable heads, the TORNADO translated rhythm into motion — creating dynamic visuals and delivering bold impact at scale.

The ACME PIXEL LINE IP also played a critical role in shaping the stage identity. Embedded within the frame edges and stage contours, the fixtures outlined the structure with clean, linear definition. With pixel mapping and strobe effects, the fixture amplified musical accents and added layers of visual rhythm, delivering bold visual impact and high-energy moments.

As music, architecture, and light converged, the show evolved into more than a performance — it became a shared, multi-sensory experience connecting artists and audiences worldwide. In this emotionally charged and visually stunning return, BTS sent a clear message to fans: BTS are back and better than ever.
For ACME Lighting, it was an opportunity to help shape a moment of global significance — where technology and creativity come together to elevate performance into lasting memory.
