ACME Lights Up a Landmark Chapter at Jay Chou’s “Dragon Fist” Carnival Tour

June 30, 2026

From June 26–28, Jay Chou brought his “Dragon Fist” Carnival Tour to Beijing's iconic Bird's Nest Stadium for three consecutive sold-out performances, attracting nearly 195,000 fans over three nights. The concerts marked Jay Chou's first-ever solo performances at the stadium and his long-awaited return to Beijing for a solo concert after nine years.

Rooted in Eastern aesthetics and Chinese cultural storytelling, the production transformed the stadium into an immersive visual world. A four-sided center stage eliminated visual barriers between the artist and audience, while a monumental suspended golden dragon became the defining visual centerpiece. Traditional Chinese ink-painting imagery merged with futuristic mechanical dragon designs, enhanced by naked-eye 3D visuals and holographic projection to create breathtaking scenes of soaring dragons.

ACME Lighting and Reyn Audio were proud to be part of this landmark production with a comprehensive lighting and audio solution designed for one of China's most prestigious outdoor concert venues. Strategically deployed throughout the stadium, the lighting system created powerful aerial effects, dynamic visual textures, and immersive atmospheres, while the audio system delivered balanced coverage and exceptional clarity for audiences in every seating section.

Serving as the primary beam fixture across the main overhead truss system, the PHOTON HYBRID 500 delivered long-throw output and reliable IP66 performance for the expansive outdoor venue. During the climax of “Dragon Fist,” its intense white beams moved in perfect synchronization with the rhythm, weaving a dramatic canopy of light above the audience. Throughout the rock medley, sweeping aerial effects extended across the entire stadium, ensuring every audience experienced the full scale of the production.

Positioned around the interactive stage perimeter, the TORNADO delivered punchy beams and fast zoom transitions, adapting effortlessly to different musical styles. During upbeat songs such as “Simple Love”, its sweeping beams amplified the rhythm and excitement across the four-sided performance space.

Installed between the overhead beam arrays, the CYCLONE enriched the production with an additional layer of kinetic visual effects. Its unique kaleidoscope effect generated rich, multi-textured visuals, while its three-axis movement created fluid, dynamic motion that continuously reshaped the stage visuals.

Surrounding the massive LED screens, the BLINDER LINE 10 IP delivered soft looks and classic tungsten emulation, adding a cinematic layer of texture to the stage. During intimate performances such as "Orchid Pavilion," its warm-white output reinforced the emotional atmosphere before seamlessly transitioning into powerful vintage-style strobe effects during the show's energetic climaxes.

Combining beam, wash, strobe and pixel effects in a unique dual-sided design, the PULSAR PLUS S2 delivered exceptional visual versatility throughout the concert. Smooth color transitions established the emotional tone during ballads, while dynamic pixel effects energized each chorus with vibrant visual rhythm.

Mounted across the overhead truss, the LIGHTNING X completed the visual system with its combination of beam, wash, strobe line and strip line. At key musical peaks, intense bursts of strobes spread across the stadium like flashes of lightning, creating unforgettable moments of energy shared between the performers and the audience.

Complementing the lighting system, Reyn Audio deployed a comprehensive reinforcement system, featuring line arrays, subwoofers, stage monitors, and digital amplifiers. Prior to the show, the team used its self-developed TURANDOT Acoustic System Platform to conduct advanced acoustic simulation of the Stadium, including 3D sound field modeling, sound propagation path analysis, full-venue SPL prediction, and blind-zone optimization. This allowed the system to be precisely optimized in advance, resulting in consistent coverage, outstanding vocal clarity, and a highly immersive listening experience.

From heartfelt ballads to high-energy rap performances, Jay Chou's “Dragon Fist” Carnival Tour showcased how creative stage design, immersive visuals, and advanced lighting and audio technologies can come together to deliver an unforgettable stadium experience. ACME Lighting and Reyn Audio remains committed to empowering artists, designers, and production teams worldwide with innovative solutions that bring ambitious live productions to life.
